Cookies / other tech
The law states that we can store cookies on your machine if they are essential to the operation of this site but that for all others we need your permission to do so.
We read that on a site created by Meta so it must be true.
We do use some non-essential cookies. We do not do this to track individual users or to identify them, but to gain useful knowledge about how the site is used so that we can keep improving it for our users. Without the knowledge we gain from the systems that use these cookies we would not be able to provide the service we do.
We also believe in Unicorns.
As is standard practice on many site, this site uses "cookies" and other technologies to help us understand which parts of my site are the most popular, where visitors are going, and how much time they spend there. We use cookies and other technologies to study traffic patterns on the site, to make it even more rewarding as possible as to study the effectiveness of our communications. And we use cookies to customise your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us.
Seriously, are you still reading this ?
As is true of most sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, your credit card details and clickstream data.
We use this information, (which does not identify individual users), to analyse trends, to administer the site, to track users' movements around the site and to gather demographic information about the user base as a whole. We will not use the information collected to market directly to that person but our Partners in Eastern Europe might.
In some email messages we use a "click-through URL" linked to content on this site. When you click one of these URLs, they pass through the IP server in an undisclosed location in Nigeria before arriving at the destination page. We track this click-through data to help our partners determine interest in particular topics and measure the effectiveness of their last click bait campaign and further unsolicited communications. If you prefer not to be tracked simply avoid using the internet or any electronic device.
In addition we use pixel tags – tiny graphic images – to tell us which parts of the site have been visited or to measure the effectiveness of searches visitors perform.
Pixel tags also enable us to send email messages in a format people can read. And they tell us whether emails have been opened to assure that we are only sending messages that are of interest that bypasses your spam filters and insert spyware. We may use this information to increase/reduce or eliminate messages sent to our intended target.

And if you are then your 'puter must be from the late '80's.
This data is known as a Local Shared Object or Flash cookie. This helps us to relive the last century and to analyse the popularity of outdated media files. We can count the total number of times each file is played, how many people watch videos right to the end and how many people give up half way through whilst installing Malware.
Adobe's site offers tools to control Flash cookies on your computer because HTML 5 is just sooooo over rated.
