Broadsystem helps get celebrity out of
here
Broadsystem will handle the public votes for the celebrity they want to out of
the jungle in this series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity – Get Me
Out of Here.
The second series of the Bafta award winning show, launches on Monday (April
28), and will follow the same format as last year with viewers voting each day
for the celebrity they want to do the daily bush tucker challenge in week one,
then the celebrity they want to win the show in week two.
Broadsystem is to handle all SMS voting for the main ITV show as well as news
or ‘gossip’ alerts to mobiles, and SMS voting polls for the ITV2
show.
Broadsystem’s specialist Live Broadcast unit will also pass callers live
to the studio as the viewing audience will have a chance to meet the stars by
calling through and answering the day’s challenge.
The programme took the nation by storm last year peaking with over 12million
viewers for the final show where Tony Blackburn was crowned King of the Jungle.
Jane Crossley, head of mobile and telephony at Granada Media, comments: “After
the runaway success of last year’s show we are hoping for significantly
higher interest in this series of I’m a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!
We therefore needed to partner a company which has experience in high volume
audience interaction and with its own broadcast-standard SMS platform to deal
with the influx of messages. Broadsystem also demonstrated the imagination required
to run with a project and develop it with us.”
Richard Halliwell, Senior Account Director adds: “The public have taken
to SMS voting with great enthusiasm. Celebrity was the first ITV show to incorporate
voting in this way and its success was outstanding. This year is going to be
even bigger and better and the team at Broadsystem will be there to make sure
everything runs smoothly.”
